Reviews

...kids get bored easily. But not with Astroplane. This is a game that demands further play, as strategies develop, and game plans formulate. There are opening gambits, mid-play tactics and end game maneuvers. It's truly a game that could be played for a lifetime. Oh, and the astrophysics part? Much like chess' reference, Astroplane's astronomy bent falls by the wayside pretty quickly. It's about the moves and the strategy; wormholes and galaxies become chutes and ladders pretty fast. It's the thinking behind the game that's so captivating, not the icing on the cake. Still, it's nice to see a futuristic look.

This really is the "Chess" of the new millennium...only it's easier to learn and much more fun to play.

This is an original board game that takes the best elements from Chess and Checkers and combines them into a space strategy game that is enjoyable for almost any age. Its fast paced with two players, but excels with the maximum of four players, which makes for a more challenging strategy game.

The greatest element with four players is the fun of forming "temporary" alliances when the opportunity arises. This game is excellent in almost every aspect. My one recommendation is that you play a game yourself prior to getting a group of friends together to play.

So get a friend, or 2, or 3 and enjoy this 3 dimensional space-based strategy game where even your friends are readily AND easily willing to turn against you at any moment.

Astroplane is a strategy game which deserves to be brought to the readers' immediate attention. (It would be listed on top of our list even its name did not start with A). This strategy game has a number of elements that will attract players and should generate a significant group of followers who enjoy challenging strategy games. The graphic design of the game board is excellent...The inventor, Chris Von S....apparently made serious research before launching this game. Once players absorbed the terminology of space jargon, they will be into a challenging and fun board game, appropriately claimed as a strategy game for the new millennium.
